SLTC Library in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch, Modal United Nations, and the Media Unit of the SLTC has organized a live chat on ‘Work-Life Balance: a path to a healthy lifestyle’ with two former international level sports stars, Shehan Ambepitiya, once the fastest runner in South Asia, and Reshika Udugampola, a swimming champion, member of the International Olympic Committee Marketing Commission and the Sri Lankan representative at the London Summer Olympics 2012. The session was moderated by Manodya Nabadawewa, a student, Deputy Minister-Sri Lanka Youth Parliament, and the President/Secretary General of Model United Nations of SLTC. Reshika and Shehan shared their unique and remarkable experiences relating to the topic. The session was conducted on Thursday, 05th of November, 2020 at 5.00 pm. More than 5 countries have participated in the session.

The SLTC Library initiated a series of guest lectures targeting local and international participants.
Two consecutive sessions on the Application of SPSS for Data Analysis have been conducted in the Sinhala medium on the 27th of August and 03rd of September, 2020. Mrs. Nadeeja Dodamgoda, a senior lecturer and a Ph.D. candidate of the Waikato University, New Zealand, facilitated the sessions. The sessions involved statistical tools required for data analysis and their application through the SPSS software. It aimed to provide a basic understanding of the different methods of the presentation and analysis of data and their applications with a specific focus on the requirements of researchers. More than 200 local participants signed up for the session, and we received many positive responses from the audience. Many participants requested that these sessions be continued to advance the SPSS course. Thus, the SLTC Library is now in the process of organizing an upcoming international session on SPSS.
