dc.description.abstract The comparative method has a theoretical and practical perspective that is useful in scientific research, particularly in qualitative studies. It is necessary to know the theoretical bases to be able to implement the processes and techniques in solving research problems and in professional practice. This will be demonstrated with examples from the libraries in relation to how they have solved their problems or made decisions with data collection and applying the methodology of the comparative studies. International or area studies are a support for this type of study, so it is proposed to analyze the methodology of these studies as part and complement of comparative studies. en_US
