| dc.description | The SLTC Library initiated a series of guest lectures targeting local and international participants. Two consecutive sessions on the Application of SPSS for Data Analysis have been conducted in the Sinhala medium on the 27th of August and 03rd of September, 2020. Mrs. Nadeeja Dodamgoda, a senior lecturer and a Ph.D. candidate of the Waikato University, New Zealand, facilitated the sessions. The sessions involved statistical tools required for data analysis and their application through the SPSS software. It aimed to provide a basic understanding of the different methods of the presentation and analysis of data and their applications with a specific focus on the requirements of researchers. More than 200 local participants signed up for the session, and we received many positive responses from the audience. Many participants requested that these sessions be continued to advance the SPSS course. Thus, the SLTC Library is now in the process of organizing an upcoming international session on SPSS. | en_US |
