The comparative method in qualitative and quantitative research
(SLTC Library, 2020-07-22) Esqueda., Tomás Bocanegra
The comparative method has a theoretical and practical perspective that is useful in scientific research, particularly in qualitative studies. It is necessary to know the theoretical bases to be able to implement the processes and techniques in solving research problems and in professional practice. This will be demonstrated with examples from the libraries in relation to how they have solved their problems or made decisions with data collection and applying the methodology of the comparative studies. International or area studies are a support for this type of study, so it is proposed to analyze the methodology of these studies as part and complement of comparative studies.

Libraries and librarians should not feel complacent in times of pandemic. This is their moment to reach out and offer virtual initiatives during extended library closures due to public health crises. The role of libraries to provide continued service is of utmost importance during this unprecedented situation. This webinar aims to recognize the need for policy or guidelines improvement on how to offer such online services and programs. It also plans to provide best practices to promote library programs, services, and initiatives during infodemic.
